Community Food Support
Thank you for your generosity in donating to this Givealittle page!!
Also a huge thank you to all of the local organisations and individuals who have donated to our End of Year Food Drive at Beach Haven Community House!
Kiwi Harvest, Birkenhead United Association Football Club, Beach Haven Primary School, Bert Sutcliffe Retirement Village, Y Early Learning Centre's Beach Haven & Birkdale, Birkenhead Primary School, Birkenhead College, Catalytic Foundation Christmas Shoebox Project, Highbury House, New World Birkenhead and all our volunteers who help make it happen. Thank you!
We have also had great support from Kris (Salvation Army Glenfield) and Sophie and Sara (The Good Works Trust). We have been able to refer some of our whanau for support from these agencies. Donations of food, money and presents from our community have enabled us to be able to provide some Christmas boxes too and fill our cupboards to help whānau in need during January and February 2026.

BBCP have been supporting our people in need with kai for the last decade. Every Monday, from Beach Haven Community House we are providing at least 70+ whānau with food parcels per fortnight. Whānau are referred through to BBCP from local kura, health providers and social services.
This programme is delivered with the help of a dedicated team of volunteers, and made possible through donations from Kiwi Harvest, The Good Works Trust, New World Birkenhead and Bakers Delight.
In term time, Beach Haven Community House is also the distribution point for local kura to collect weekly lunch packs provided by The Good Works Trust for some of our local tamariki. We are thankful for this food assistance as we want to ensure our kids have every opportunity to learn and grow!
Our generous community also donate kai to the Pātaka Kai (community pantry) set up in front of both our community houses.

Kai Tahi Community Meal
BBCP is proud to support Life Community Kitchens and Taka Peters in hosting this community meal every Wednesday at 5.30pm in the Birkdale Hall.
Over 80 families are welcomed into the hall for a free two course meal each week. This is an amazing opportunity for the community to come together and enjoy quality kai.
